Fran Pazos

Full-stack Software Engineer on PayCargo, the leading online payment platform for the global cargo industry, working within a global, English-speaking agile team. I started out helping migrate a legacy Angular application to a new React platform, delivering full-stack features end to end — from Figma designs on the front end down to the backend and SQL. As the company scaled globally I was selected for a squad focused on integrations with PayCargo's key clients, where my work is now backend-focused: architecting vendor connections through APIs and web scraping, including a new scheduled-payments flow for several Hong Kong carriers.

I led the startup from its inception and took on the primary responsibility for the project. As part of a small company, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in various aspects of the business, including managing human capital, coordinating two small teams, handling accounting, maintenance, purchasing, and promoting for the company.

Developed a dynamic web application to showcase the agency's apartment listings, delivering an accessible, user-friendly interface for prospective clients. Built and styled the platform with HTML, CSS and Angular, with a focus on functionality and responsive design across devices. This early role gave me hands-on front-end development experience — applying foundational engineering skills and learning on the job to ship a functional, business-aligned solution — while collaborating closely with the team to translate requirements into an intuitive, well-designed product.

At Thomson Reuters, I worked as a journalist responsible for writing, editing, and translating content at a professional level. I contributed to both the economic platform and the main webpage news, ensuring accurate and engaging reporting. Additionally, I assisted with the layout and markup of the site, enhancing the overall presentation and accessibility of the news.
